luau

Our ward had a luau party Saturday to raise money for the scouts and scout camp. It was SO fun and I think the cost of camp should be covered for the scouts. The YW did a similar dinner fundraiser in the fall for girl's camp.

campbell put herself in charge of making sure everyone had a lei. She was really really into them.

She also snagged a pineapple smoothie when they went up for sale. and then, when the kids were done fighting over the pineapple smoothie we snagged a coconut one.

They've been talking about the "luau party" at church for weeks now and it did not disappoint. There was a roasting pig on a spit when we first walked in to the party and many of the Tongan/Islander members in the area performed dances. Even one of my beautiful Mia Maids performed a number with her mom.

 quinn wanted to help keep the spirits high during clean-up

 The best part of the night was when the YM closed the night with the warrior dance "the Haka" and were all facepainted up with Maori warpaint. It. Was. Hilarious.

 We were all alone at our table because Spencer had been roped into doing the cash register and accounting.

Quinny scoured the church looking for the facepaint station hoping to get in on the action. Sister Palaski was very kind and said she would do quinny's face if she could look around at all the YM and find a design she liked. Quinny's boyfriend in the ward is Dawson (he's like 15) and she picked his design.
