The girls and I went to Time Out For Women in Sacramento this fall. Campbell was old enough to go this year which made it even MORE fun! We stay downtown in a hotel Friday night between sessions.
It was really great again this year and always fun to see familiar faces of friends from the past and present.
I took the kids to our old stomping grounds in San Jose to visit the Rosacrucian Museum after we finished studying Egypt. There are several real mummies and tons of mummified animals spread through the museum. It's pretty interesting.
Tons of teensy little koi and one huge submarine koi in this pond.
Then we paid a visit to the fancy chickens at Emma Prusch Farm. I used to bring emery and campebll here all the time when they were little.
Campbell is a few years older but still playing on the tractor.
Dad came to the rescue of my fence soon after getting home from Brazil. The wood was salvageable but the main support poles had rotted at the bottom and so the fence was falling over. Dad dug holes for 4 new poles and braced them to the falling fence. Now it's as good as new. Luckily Dad had lots of help- Griffin and his gardening shovel.
Feeling so powerful with the checkout scanner
We got flocked again this year with even more flamingos. The pick-up people forgot one so now we have a lone flamingo peeking out from our bushes.
The kids got to do a field trip on an old-time sailing vessel out in the Suisan Bay. The kids learned sailor-speak, history of sailing and navigation and then got to help raise and lower the sails as we took off and returned to port.
Totally fun field trip and I'm glad I got to go along and enjoy a nice sail on the Bay while someone else taught my kids for a few hours. Haha
