Spring 2022

Griffin and scotch tape
Some of Griffin's thumb therapy. Luckily the whole clinic was for hand rehabilitation because, in the grand scheme of things, a thumb might not have seemed important if we'd been in the midst of spinal cord injuries or TBIs. He regained all of the motion in his thumb and graduated a couple months later.
Emery got her acceptance email for BYU a few days earlier than we were expecting and she was thrilled! What an exciting achievement after years of hard work. The next morning she got even more amazing news when she opened another BYU email to discover she'd gotten the Heritage Scholarship and the full cost of tuition for all four years would be covered. They said she honored the spiritual, intellectual and cultural heritage of the church. I'm so happy for her and know she's been very blessed for her positive efforts.
My hiking buddies in Briones State Park.
Spencer and I got away for a night in Napa to see Brian Regan.
Griffin very very unwillingly got glasses in the spring and then told me to pick out whatever glasses I wanted cuz he wasn't going to wear them anyway. Then the glasses arrived and he wears them all day every day. *eye roll*
Spencer got an infection the started in one of his nailbeds- a hangnail or something allowed the infection in. He ended up in urgent care and was told he has cellulitis and given strong antibiotics to stop the progression of the infection up his arm. It was crazy. He may have fainted in the urgent care right before they started the procedure to drain the infection. And it may have taken him an hour to regain consciousness and be stable enough for then to discharge him.
Spencer left Deloitte after almost 16 years and accepted an offer to become a Partner at Grant Thornton in March. It has been a huge blessing for our family in many ways and we're happy to see him doing a job he loves. We went to a John Mayer concert in SF using GTs box seats at the new Chase Center arena. Lots of delicious food available and I brought home a few candy bars and Skittles for the kids.
Our homeschool charter pays for education materials and toys to make the kids smarter. Worth it.
Low tide at Crown Beach means you can walk out forever and still only be knee-deep in water.
We fit in a quick pre-summer beach trip on a school day. We love going to Crown Beach for a few hours of beach play and it's nice that there are no waves or riptides (or sharks) at this beach.
Emery and Campbell were practicing a piano duet for church and Griffin doesn't like to be left out of anything at our house.

Spencer volunteered to be in charge of the Easter eggs at our ward Easter party this year and he wanted to go big so he set a goal of filling and hiding 2000 eggs. We gathered egg donations from people in the ward and bought candy and some more eggs at the store. Every time someone would drop off a bag of eggs at our house whoever was home would quickly count and fill the eggs. We had an Easter egg factory going in our family room for weeks. We reached the goal by the day of the party!
Griffin wants candy candy candy in his basket.
It's never a problem filling Quinn's basket. She loves arts and crafts, stuffed animals, Hatchimals, hidden surprise toys, Legos, candy and any other cool new toy I come across.

Spencer's Easter basket was an Amazon box hidden in the depths of my closet. No matter! It had healthy treats and a game inside. Spencer has been eating 100% plant-based and no sugar for a couple years now so holiday treats don't look very treat-y anymore.
Happy Easter!
