The National Zoo is free to everyone and we've been waiting for the perfect day (school in session, amazing weather, no sicknesses) to check it out.
quinn inspecting the vegetationWeigh yourself on the scale and find out which animal you'd feed.
Behind the kids are the zebras and it was my favorite part. The zebras are located next door to the cheetahs (they share a chain-link fence) and this one cheetah parked himself at the fence and watched the zebras all day long. He was there when we arrived and when we left 5 hours later. He wanted one so bad.
emery stops at all the little fact areas so she can read all the info to us.
Mom- what do you mean I ate all the food up?
Just some lions eating some bunnies. The zookeepers tossed the lion's lunch right over the railing. In front of everyone. Man, the lions really tore into those things. You should have seen the kids' faces.
There are towers and ropes leading from one orangutan home to another one across the zoo. So, whenever the orangutans get bored they swing over the tops of our heads to a new area. There are warning stripes on the sidewalks under the ropes because the orangutans have been known to relieve themselves while swinging.
Bye zoo! We'll be back!

It would have been traumatic for grandma to see the bunnies get devoured!! The kids look like they had a great time too.

I guess I would be a prime target for the Cheetahs...
I love Griffin's expression when the food ran out. So classic.
Love you guys!

i see that look from wyatt every time we hit the park, or any kind of museum. wants his food right away, lunch as soon as we get there. he never believes me when he runs out, and wants to search my purse.
