The stairs and path down to the lighthouse were a great workout- I added quinny to my back for the trip back up to the top since I had forfeited my run that morning. The lighthouse was my favorite part because the history was so interesting. There were journal entries from the distant past about shipwrecks, storms and lighthouse tenders going AWOL.

Another trail was the Miwok trail up to am imitation Miwok village
We went on the earthquake trail first- there were lots of signs and things to learn along the way. And you got to see the damage from earthquakes of the past. And stand on the San Andreas Fault. All exciting things.
emery is a great big sister and finds lots of ways to include her siblings in whatever is going on. Like trying to spot a deer off in the bushes.
We ended our hiking over by the sea lion overlook and saw big fatty sea lions and little babies flopping around. It was such a fun day with perfect weather. Great birthday choice emery! We had been wanting to go for a while and emery loved the idea of going on a trip to celebrate turning 11. We ended the day eating at Point Reyes Station.
