Aladdin

The school does a play every year and the kids try out, practice and perform all in the course of 1 week. Campbell and griffin got parts this year and had so much fun. Griffin didn't want to go to the tryouts but I said just show up and see what you think of it. He ended up being a very proud penguin.

Campbell got the part of Ali Baba and was hilarious. Her character thought he was being chased by the 40 thieves but it was all in his imagination. So every scene she came onstage in crazy disguises or hiding behind trees and pots. She was supposed to speak with a British accent but after the director heard her interpretation skewing on the side of Italian... "Hi-uh, my-uh name-uh is-uh Ali Baba!!!" He said she could speak without an accent.

She did so well. She remembered all her lines and really really got into the play.

quinn didn't move for the whole hour. Until the cast ran out into the audience and into the aisles. Then her eyes got huge and she tried to scamper to safety.

About 60 kids in the performance

Griffin was a lost penguin. They didn't like the cold and were wandering around the Arabian Desert.

 More lost penguins

I grabbed him after the performance and we raced off to baseball so he brought a little stage makeup along to the game.

Campbell liked the mustache but asked for the full mustache and beard combo for the final performance. She wanted to be ALL IN.
