August

Griffin got braces on! He lost all his teeth so I guess that's the next step. He'll only have them on for about 18 months which I'm thrilled about since I'm the official tooth-brusher of any kid in braces in our family.
Grandma wants another dog- just maybe not this little bite-y one.
Grandma celebrated another trip around the sun while we were visiting. Angel food cake is always a hit with the party guests.
Emery's 16th birthday was another big milestone that was going to be celebrated during corona-time. We wanted to have a big party but I didn't want to be arrested so we decided to head out of town to party instead.
It was so fun! We got lots of seafood, cinnamon rolls, shells, beach time, and family time.

Spencer and I went on a beach walk and the kids were very well behaved while we were gone. Just entertaining themselves!

At the very end of the beach there are some cool caves you can walk through

Griffin put sunscreen on his own face and just put a small oval worth in the middle of his forehead.
She got on the hotel room throne and opened her gifts

Quinny found me a quirky sand dollar with a barnacle attached to it which was sweet of her and a really cool find.
Aunt Katie recommended this ice cream place in San Luis Obispo and it was the perfect end to Emery's 16th birthday celebration!
Our last day we went to Avila Beach and hit the sand dollar jackpot. We'd been scouring the other beaches for complete sand dollars when, little did we know, this beach was completely covered in all sizes.

It feels like they're always within arm's reach of each other
This is why dusting is a kid job
The girls had a challenge from Young Womens to "create" something- based on the talk by President and Sister Nelson. Campbell went waaaaaay above and beyond and created a whole scroll with all the different scenes from someone's life. She made the scroll, sketched the scenes and painted all of it.
The upstairs toilet had a leak and, instead of just fixing the leak, we ripped out a good chunk of Griffin's ceiling and then tore apart the whole bathroom. It's so fun to tear things out and throw them in the garbage!!!
Next came the carpet which had lived its life and was more than ready to be thrown in the trash heap.
When anyone shows a knack for any part of the demo they automatically get assigned that job for life. Campbell was somehow able to yank super large staples out of the plywood so... this was her view for a few hours.
