One of Campbell's high school classes is culinary arts and I'm not sad about it. She gets a different assignment every couple weeks and makes 3 different batches of each assignment. This focaccia was from Bread Week. It lasted maybe a minute and a half before being devoured.
General Conference weekend is always a highlight of the year. We had kids everywhere but were still able to be inspired.
Gnocchi time! After reading and learning about Italy Quinn was given a gnocchi recipe and we both thought it sounded doable. For our first time making this recipe ever I think it turned out pretty well!
Emery's dollhouse is always a big hit when she brings it downstairs. The kids go grab all their stuffed animals and they play for hours. I guess I shouldn't call it a dollhouse... it's a "stuffy house"
Our stake announced they are doing girl's camp different this year. It's going to be combined with the boys for part of the week and will have a lot of changes. We have 3 kids going this year so that's good news for us! They only have to staff 1 week worth of camp and it won't eat up 2 weeks of our summer. Emery got called to the youth committee that is planning this new camp. She's putting her heart, time and soul into researching and planning camp. Hopefully it actually happens next year!
We booked a camping trip for the day after busy season ended for Spencer. We went to a new place which is always fun. Griffin brought his hatchet and kept himself busy breaking pieces of firewood off for kindling. He also slept in a tent by himself for the first time ever.
We visited the general store at the campground every day. Mostly for candy.
This bend of the Russian River does not flow quickly at all.
The ocean was about 10 mins away
And, unbeknownst to us, we had a great climbing tree on our campsite. We got so lucky. We had shade and weren't too close to any other sites.
After our fun camping trip we got to work finishing up the bathroom projects.
The Primary had a Halloween Zoom party. They dropped off a bag on our porch full of activities to do during the zoom call. It was pretty clever.
Pumpkin carving is a big hit over here. They do it all themselves and clean up afterwards. It's so enjoyable!
Bathrooms done! Tile, baseboards, vanity, faucets and everything! What a difference!
We weren't sure if we were going to go trick-or-treating this year. Mostly because I was scared of getting yelled at. I'm so glad we went out! The kids wore masks and people were so nice and welcoming. Many people had their candy grabbers ready and candy-chutes and one house just gave us their whole bag of candy because they said no one was coming by.
Such a perfect night with a large orange moon in the background setting the Halloween mood.
Quinn has to study up before our monthly calls with our Certified Teacher (CT). If she doesn't have a cram session before the call then she just sits there saying "uuuhhhhhh" every time her teacher asks her a question. Can you see which part of our house is on our to-do list now?
This is how Griffin does his homework.
