Our Christmas Eve tradition goes back as far as I can remember (I know dad's family still plays it in Utah). 7-11 includes lots of fun presents, junk food and luck! The girls' presents are wrapped with a different paper so they choose those out of the pile instead of boring grown-up gifts.

emery has gotten really good at following the rules and putting her gift back if she rolls a "5". Sometimes she says "pass" when the dice come around for fear of rolling a 5 and having to put a gift back in the pile.

We had to tweak the rules a little for campbell. By her 3rd roll we'd pretend like she'd rolled a 7 or 11 to get her a gift. She did not follow the rules for rolling a 5.
Thanks to mom for all her shopping. She has strong beliefs about what qualifies as a good 7-11 gift (no junk- she hates wasting money) so it takes her a long time to gather the loot.

Oh yeah, we also had a trip to Costco on Christmas Eve. Another Whiting tradition- daily Costco trips. Dad loves to give his grandkids things they shouldn't be eating. Griffy is sampling a Haagen Dazs ice cream bar.
