Canyonlands

The last park we went to was Canyonlands- like the grand canyon but way less crowded and oh-so-accessible!

 I think this was the scariest place we went to the whole trip. There was a short hike to Aztec Butte where there were some "grainaries" from the time Native Americans were in the area. Anyway... we thought it sounded cool but these grainaries ended up being in the edge of a super steep and slippery slope. We took a couple quick pictures while trying not to topple over backwards and then got the kids off that slope! Augh!

 We ended our trip with a nice hike to the edge of the Island in the Sky.

 Always a miracle if quinn in sleeping in the car. We wore this little energizer bunny right out.

And then, weirdest thing ever, after our perfect week and perfect weather we hit a huge snowstorm in the Sierras and the freeway was closed down and they made us get chains because we couldn't go east or west on 80 and there were no hotels or anything where we were. Crazy... and annoying since we'd just bought a new set of chains the month before!
