December

Our annual Christmas House building night. Every year they get more independent and their houses get bigger. Griffin usually just builds a trough and fills it with candy.

Hauling all our Christmas presents to Grandma and Grandpa's house so we can just haul them back home again is another yearly tradition!

Grandma Judy took the kids on a fun nature scavenger hunt which was perfect- getting the kids outside and giving them something competitive to do.
Grandma offered to pay the kids $1 if they could make it across the stream on this fallen tree (thinking no one would ever try to do such a thing). So, of course Campbell took on the challenge and really had to push herself to get through those branches.
Quinny turned this walk into a school field trip by visiting the Native American grinding stone site. They made deep bowls in the rock as they ground seeds and grain each day.
Mom and Dad set up a nativity-scene building project. Lots of frosting, candy and fun was had by all.

Loading kids into cars for the Christmas luminaries drive on Christmas Eve. We blast Christmas music and fog up the windows for the better part of an hour.

Quinn got some animal rescue LEGOs which are just the cutest- little baby animal pieces are included with each set.

Mom is the ping pong champion amongst the missionaries in Brazil so she got a ping pong net to keep up some of her skills.
After Christmas we headed to Utah to see family and to be there when Jeff and Liz and James arrived from Vienna.
On our to-do list was the hike the Y. We never want to do it when we visit in the hot summer so winter seemed perfect. Quinn did not get the memo that we were HIKING the Y so she hopped into the car with little leopard booties, no socks and a thin shirt. I had to give her my sweater and jacket along with my socks.

The other hikers on Y mountain had never seen such an ill-equipped group of people.

Annual picture at the BYU statue
We added another temple to our list by visiting the Timpanogas temple. It was SO cold but so beautiful!
Quality time and conversations

Griffin on one of many 2020 Zoom meetings
He's all ready for the big BYU bowl game- complete with stuffed cougar.
The entry of our home was the perfect place to line up all the gifts for the widows in our ward. Corona time ensured we didn't have any visitors come over so it wasn't getting used.
Quinn's Christmas list is always worthy of a picture. She's so cute.
