Ever since our Christmas trip to California we've been looking forward to my parent's visit. It came and went and now there's nothing exciting on my calendar.
Mom and Dad didn't get a very relaxing vacation. They took over my kitchen doing things like roasting pepitas, chopping up salads and making cookies every other day.Where was I? Oh, I'm sitting at the kitchen table with my feet up watching my mom roast away. I miss them!!!
campbell was not thrilled that grandpa wanted to take over as her teacher for the week. She doesn't care much for schoolwork. Unfortunately, you practically have to sit on top of her and watch every move she makes while saying things like "campbell- what's the next problem" "campbell look at your paper" "campbell, that's not how you write a g." She was doing pretty well with her 2 assigned pages a day so I relaxed a little and stopped checking her finished pages each day. After about a week I discovered she'd taken the date stamper and stamped each page with the correct date and then closed the book and put it back on the shelf.
griffin was all ready to go into DC. The kids showed grandma and grandpa their favorite part of their favorite museum. The insect exhibit of the Natural History Museum. We were just in time for the tarantula feeding. Then mom and dad spoiled us at our favorite DC restaurant.
The Metro trip back
Mom taught emery how to crochet the Whiting stitch. It's been passed down for a few generations now (it skipped me-sorry).
On the morning they were leaving dad trekked to Home Depot and decided to do one last project. He put a mesh fence along the upstairs railing-of-death to keep quinn alive in our dangerous home. Does this railing look like a good idea to anyone??? So far the new barricade is hanging in there and doing it's job.
Thanks mom and dad for everything. We had such a fun time!

We had the best time and thank you for everything. We miss you guys.
Love, mom
That first picture of your mom putting a pan into the oven looks like it belongs in a cooking magazine! She is beautiful and the picture is so well done.
How fun to have your parents come for a visit! I remember the feeling.
